Dive Headfirst into Comedy!

Join an intensive 8-month closed theatre workshop and explore the many faces of comedy!
Here you’ll learn techniques that help you create truly effective comic scenes, tell human stories through the language of humour, and experiment with a wide range of vivid characters.
We’ll focus strongly on physical comedy, while also working with text-based scenes.
At the end of the process, in June, participants will put their new skills into practice in a stage variety performance, presenting their own scenes developed with the guidance of the directors.
Your guides on this comic journey will be two internationally experienced theatre artists: Fabrizio Paladin and Ádám Boncz.

From November to June, we’ll meet one weekend per month, where our trainers will guide you through the diverse world of comedy.

You’ll learn the foundations of physical comedy, explore slapstick and burlesque techniques to create action-filled, humorous scenes, and rediscover the world through the curious and playful eyes of the clown.

You’ll study the timeless principles of comedy through Commedia dell’Arte archetypes and situations, and learn how to work effectively with a comedic text to fully unleash your characters’ and scenes’ potential.

We’ll explore various comic genres — absurd, dark comedy, satire, parody, and farce — and work both with improvisation-based exercises and directed scenes.

Throughout the months, participants will prepare their own material for a final stage variety performance, developing it further with the help of the directors.
